Tom Kaberna enters his 5th year at Lake Park. Since joining the staff, his passion, dedication and thirst for knowledge have elevated the program to one of the best in the state. His commitment to the horizontal jumps has made that event group one of the most successful in the country. In 2011, he capped off a state championship season by guiding Zach Ziemek to state titles and school records in both the long and triple jumps. During his short but impressive tenure at LP, all of the school records in the horizontal jumps have been broken. Coach Kaberna is a USATF Level 1 and 2 Certified coach in the Sprints and Jumps. During the summer, he heads the DuPage Track Club (DTC) which over the last two summers has produced more National Qualifiers and National Champions than any other club in Illinois.
Personal
When Coach Kaberna is not teaching Math at the East Campus or coaching, he enjoys going out to dinner and the movies. He is married and lives in Bloomingdale.
