Jay Ivory enters his 16th year at Lake Park and 15th season as head coach. Coach Ivory got his start in coaching as a volunteer at Evanston high school under legendary coach Willie May. Since coming to Lake Park he has worked to maintain the reputation of the Lancer Track and Field program as being one of the premier programs in the state. Due to the tremendous efforts of his athletes and staff, the team has won back to back IHSA State Championships, and Coach Ivory has been named IHSA 3A Track Coach of the year 3 years in a row. Coach Ivory is a USATF Level 1 and a USTFCCCA Level 2 certified coach. Coach Ivory ran for and got his undergraduate degree from DePaul University.
When Coach Ivory is not teaching Math at the East Campus or coaching, he enjoys watching home improvement TV shows. He is single and lives in Chicago.
